Nick Bamford is a senior undergrad here at CSULB. He majors in ceramics and is from Huntington Beach. His favorite thing to do are all art related. He’s always liked art ever since he was a little kid. He likes building things too. He graduates this semester. He likes Picasso’s work and he likes working with different things. Art takes up most of his time and he enjoys it since he likes coming out with new works for people to observe and enjoy. Nick also plays guitar in his free time whenever he’s not making art.

Nick Bamford’s art is very abstract with many vibrant colors due to his use of black lights to create the neon effect. He rearranges the objects he finds to create a whole mixture of art. Each sculpture of his is unique. His work isn’t symmetric since there are many objects, included n them. The texture is different too since his work combines many things into one. There are very vibrant colors in his works and they are very large according to scale. Nick does a good job in connecting  all the objects together and making sure his work doesn’t fall apart.

Nick Bamford explores different meaning in his art. He sees an object and tries to find another function or use for it. He thinks outside the box. He shows very well that normal, everyday objects or even the most random objects can too be considered art. It is in the eyes of the beholder to see it that way. His work is also up to interpretation. There is no specific meaning he wants to convey. He wants people to interpret his art and find their own meaning.

To me, Nick Bamford’s art is very playful and colorful. I like the way he combines the weirdest objects together and makes art out of it. It’s very impressive. I also like the way he adds a black light to make his works neon and bright. It makes them stand out more and at the same time, it highlights all the objects in that work because the light is shining on the random objects. I also like the idea of things having more than one function. Overall Nick Bamford did a great job in his works and should continue this style of art since it is unique and very eye-catching
